Bond statement following the bombing of the Al-Ahli Arabi Hospital in northern Gaza
Following the killing of at least 500 people during a bombing of the al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital, in northern Gaza last night (17 October), Bond’s Director of Policy and Advocacy, Gideon Rabinowitz said:
The horrific bombing of al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital is appalling and must serve as a wake-up call to the international community. We need an immediate ceasefire so a humanitarian corridor can be established allowing INGOs and humanitarian agencies to urgently get food, clean water and medical supplies into the country. Innocent civilians must also be allowed to move to safety. The UK needs to urgently show leadership and ensure international humanitarian law is adhered to before the situation deteriorates even further and more lives are lost.
