Bond media briefing on the New Financial Pact Summit in Paris, 22-23 June

Bond has produced a media briefing on the upcoming summit for a New Global Financing Pact taking place in Paris this Thursday 22 June. The briefing highlights what Bond would like to see from governments, including the UK, at the summit and over the next year to drive forward global finance reform and to deliver on climate finance promises.

As Bond is the UK network for NGOs, elements of the briefing have been informed by Bond member and partner organisations.

Ahead of the summit, Stephanie Draper, Chief Executive of Bond, the UK network for NGOs said:

Our global financial system is broken. Urgent reform is needed to design a system that supports lower-income countries at the forefront of the global climate, debt, poverty, food, and humanitarian crises. But this is only possible if richer countries, like the UK, demonstrate global leadership and commit to reforming our global financial system, working with lower-income countries to deliver solutions that ensure the long-term sustainability of our planet.

ENDS.
