Othman Moqbel is a British Palestinian with over 25 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. He is currently the CEO of Action for Humanity, formerly known as Syria Relief, with humanitarian activities in more than 12 countries around the world and an income of £40 million. He served as a board member of both ACEVO and Charity Futures from 2016 to 2019. Prior to Action for Humanity, Othman served as CEO of Human Appeal where, under his leadership, the charity experienced remarkable growth, becoming one of the fastest-growing charities in the UK. He was named one of the Heroes of Manchester by the Evening Standard after the Manchester Arena Bombing. In 2015, he also received the ACEVO Fellowship Award for best CEO of the year.
Othman considers himself a motivational speaker and has been invited to address conferences in the UK, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East on topics such as Humanitarian Affairs, International Development, Ethical Leadership, and Governance. He believes in prioritizing the needs of right-holders and driving positive change in the sector based on integrity and value-based true leadership.
