Mic started as a documentary producer for the Center for Disaster Preparedness in 2007 as a student volunteer. He has since performed various roles in the organization, such as field officer for relief and delivery operations, trainer-facilitator for community training workshops, project manager for CBDRRM projects, head of communications, and now, program coordinator for CDP’s services for technical assistance.
He supervises and oversees the CDP’s delivery of services to its partners, such as training and capacity development, research, knowledge exchange, and management, and development of knowledge materials. At present, he’s involved in the Assets, Agency, and Trust Programme, which hopes to improve the understanding of the community-led change landscape in the Philippines and to elevate, connect, and strengthen ideas and various efforts with a longer-term focus on sustainability.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Film and Audio-Visual Communication from the UP Film Institute in the University of the Philippines-Diliman and is an alumnus of the International Training Program for Disaster Risk Management of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) in Sweden in 2019, and Community Based Disaster Risk Management Training Course by the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) in 2013.
