Meshark’s work involves supporting rural communities across east Africa. Following his studies in agriculture and development management, I have actively undertaken strategic program design across the 10 years of my career, engaging with communities and ensuring change.
He leads the implementation of Ripple Effect’s farm systems work that integrates sustainable farming based on our agro-ecological climate positive approach, and livestock management. These are empowering communities to achieve food security, improve their livelihoods and protect the environment.

COP27: adaptation and reparations won’t solve the problem for Africa
Mitigation, or trying to prevent rising global temperatures, has not been the focus for African countries this year. Instead, the consensus is that we should focus on adaptation, and financial reparations. But this means we are the proverbial “boiling frogs” on the stove of climate crisis, and no-one will turn down the heat until it’s too late.
