Gerard joined Bond in 2019 as head of organisational effectiveness. He is programme lead for the Learning from Consortia programme and provides ongoing support for the Civil Society Collective programme both of which are funded through UK Aid Connect funded by FCDO.
He supports CSOs to achieve better development results through improved effectiveness, learning, innovation and adaption for the future. He supports partnerships and collaboration practice, such as those through the UK Alliance and the Research Advisers Network, along with supporting Bond’s own internal MEAL and organisational effectiveness.
He has worked in various leadership, management and advisory roles for more than 20 years in the humanitarian and development sector. His main areas of focus have been organisational capacity development, partnership development, programme and project management, programme funding, monitoring and evaluation including working for Australian Red Cross, RedR UK, VSO, and as an independent consultant. He is also an Associate Member of CIPD.
