Frances is chief executive at ActionAid UK. She was previosuly executive director, programmes and policy at CARE International UK. Before that, she was chief executive of Amref Health Africa UK and before that was director of communications and brand for Unicef UK and head of international programme engagement.
Frances has over 20 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, focusing specifically on strategy and communications, with an emphasis on increasing access to healthcare in marginalised populations. From 2009-2012, Frances worked in Swaziland, leading the evaluation of an experimental USAID-funded national HIV prevention programme and creating the communications strategy for the Ministry of Health for their new national Health Management Information System.
Frances has alos previously worked in Afghanistan, developing the communications strategy for the Ministry of Public Health’s Public-Private Partnerships programme to extend the provision of secondary and tertiary healthcare.
Frances has an MSc in Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.
