Claire is an experienced civil society leader. She is currently head of Hub Cymru Africa, Wales’ leading global solidarity partnership; she co-chairs the Wales Overseas Agency Group and is a founding member of the European Network for Citizen Initiatives for Global Solidarity.
She has worked in the development sector in Wales for over 3 years leading Hub Cymru Africa towards a new way of working anchored in partnership, with anti-racism and inclusion as core principles. She leads the joint working of Wales and Africa Health Links Network, Sub Saharan Advisory Panel, Fair Trade Wales and Wales Centre for International Affairs to achieve joint outcomes and ensure a positive and thriving solidarity sector in Wales.
Claire’s experience comes from working in campaigns and communication for social justice and rights-based organisations including the Campaign to End Loneliness where she campaigned on loneliness as a socio-economic issue and National Union of Students in Wales where she oversaw the full external affairs brief including five liberation campaigns and delivered political influencing strategies. She has succeeded in securing policy change and delivery successful public awareness and behaviour change campaigns.
Alongside her professional roles Claire makes use of her skills in organisational development, campaigns and political influencing as a board member for Samaritans Cymru.
