Sue Dean
Before becoming a freelance consultant, Sue worked for Save the Children UK, Options Consultancy Services and the British Council, where she led teams to secure and manage multiple complex, high value (£5m plus) programmes from the UK Government and many other development agencies (World Bank, EU, KfW). At Save the Children UK, Sue was FCDO partnership lead with responsibility for oversight of the entire SC UK FCDO account, a portfolio of up to 80 programmes across 21 countries. Sue is based in London and has reasonable French and German. Sue helps senior INGO leaders to face key strategic challenges, particularly in how to adopt a sustainable funding model. She focusses on how they may diversity and grow their donor funding base, develop a unique proposition and how to build business development capacity. She provides expertise in understanding donor priorities, particularly UK Government funding, and how to adapt their organisations for compliance with donor requirements. Recent clients have included CARE International UK, Abt Associates Christian Aid, WaterAid, Abt Britain, C40 Cities, Social Development Direct, Nathan Associates, Sightsavers, World Vision UK, MC Saatchi World Services and the International Institute for Environment and Development.
